During the 2014 MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference (late February and early March) where our research paper was selected and featured as one of the top 16 papers from over 300 submissions, ESPN.com ran a feature article on our groundbreaking NBA referee analytics. A couple of weeks after the Sloan Conference, USA Today’s Sam Amick wrote this article about new NBA commissioner Adam Silver’s stance on being more transparent about NBA officiating. Amick also interviewed us for our opinion about this ‘transparency.’
A few days later, Amick included in his USA Today blog a recommendation to follow our Twitter account where we occasionally post tidbits about NBA referees’ tendencies. Below is a screenshot from that blog post:
